Mark Malarko is a British artist based in Barcelona whose work moves between abstraction and references drawn from popular culture, found imagery, and everyday life. For SUPER SECUESTRO, his first exhibition at Circus Network, Malarko presents a new body of paintings inspired by discarded comic books discovered in an abandoned factory in Barcelona. Translated through layers of house paint, gesture, and intuition, these fragments evolve into abstract compositions that explore transformation, memory, and the way images persist and acquire new meanings over time.
