Description

The Jaunt is a unique art project that combines the two best things in life: Art & Travel. The Jaunt sends artists all over the world to step outside their comfort zone and experience new surroundings. Each trip organised by The Jaunt sends an artist to a new destination to inspire. Each trip is different, because each destination and artists is different. Once the artist returns from the trip their new-found inspiration is translated into an artwork and produced as a limited edition, hand made screen print each personally signed and numbered by the artist.

On Saturday 13th December The Jaunt officially launched it’s first publication at American Book Center (ABC) in Amsterdam. The 200 page, full colour publication documents a total of ten journey’s across the world through beautiful photographs and illustrations. Over the course of a year and a half The Jaunt has organised a total of ten journey’s ranging from Helsinki to Istanbul and from Antwerp to Los Angeles. For each trip an artist creates a unique artwork capturing the spirit and essence of their trip, while keeping a travel diary for all the people back home.

In it’s first publication The Jaunt had gathered all the stories, drawings, snapshots and keepsakes from the artists on their trips. The book features exclusive interviews with the artists about their creative process, and shows unique sketches and photos from the trips. Offering a behind-the-scenes look of our artists and the project itself. The artists involved in the project include Hedof, Sasa Ostoja and Niels ‘Shoe’ Meulman.
